Eclectic Music eXtravaganza (EMX) @Panda Platforma, Berlin
Eclectic Music eXtravaganza (EMX) is an international collective of boundary-defying musicians who converge in Berlin—and on stages around the globe—to conjure a 21st-century music salon. Their performances are kaleidoscopic collisions of genre: chamber music reimagined as a vibrant, borderless conversation between jazz, rock, electronica, and contemporary classical traditions.
On July 5th, 2024, the EMX Ensemble unites with the renowned Clair-obscur Sax Quartet for an unforgettable evening at Berlin’s ultra-hip venue, Panda Platforma. This genre-fluid concert will feature works by Gene Pritsker, Machiko Ozawa, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Verdi, and more—performed by an extraordinary lineup: soprano Ljiljana Winkler, violinist Machiko Ozawa, beatboxer Daniel Mandolini, EMX director and guitarist Gene Pritsker, and the Clair-obscur Sax Quartet’s own Christoph Enzel, Maike Krullmann, Kathi Wagner, and Carlos Giménez.
Highlights include Pritsker’s sax quartet Elegant Piles of Refuse and selections from his Soprano Vs. Sax Quartet Suite—a daring reinterpretation of classical arias, spun through a prism of jazz-infused eclecticism.
